Martee turned 5 on December 16th. She is so proud to be 5! I couldn't let this birthday go by without a few words about my biggie girl.
Martee is a sweet and sensitive little girl. She thinks deeply about everything and will often go back to things that happened in the past with more questions, more thoughts. She told me the other day that when she grows up she is "going to a mama first, than a doctor, than the President, and than God".
She is the BEST BIG SISTER in the world! Seriously. Selam can do no wrong in Martee's book, and they love each other so much. Martee will do anything for her baby sis, and even though Selam is constantly into her things, she never loses her cool or gets angry at her. I don't think a day goes by without Martee telling Selam how much she love having her in our family.
She is still deep (and I mean DEEP) into imaginative play. The new favorite is "honey". This is a scenario in which she and I play husband and wife and we go to Ethiopia to pick up our babies. I find it so interesting that as many times as we have acted this out, the husband (me) is never allowed to get off the plane?
Martee is a complete girl in every sense of the word. She so wants Mama to wear high heels, dresses, and make-up. She is always pointing out other moms at school and asking me to borrow their clothes:) She is definitely figuring out that I am not a high heels type of gal, and she really doesn't like it.
Here's to another year of dressing up, dancing, and exploring!
